5/7/2023 0 Comments Dremel head porting kit![]() Remember BOOKS, tangible paper products complete with grease finger prints that you could lend to your friends and never get back ? I now have digital copies of "2 Stroke Tuner's Handbook" by Jennings and "Two Stroke Performance Tuning" by Graham/Bellīoth of those books offered up a lot of info on all sorts of tuning and were our "Holy Grail" way back in the days. It seems as though Tora has done a lot of work on this topic. #7 "not intended for use on public highways" I have known many smoke tuners, most are men of few words. Have fun.a right angle Foredom adapter is the only proper way to raise the ports combined with carbide micro cutters, just my Foredom setup with foot controlled cutter speed was over $600.but I got over 12 bhp with a dremel before ever getting nice porting tools.Īnother way to do this with less effort is to raise the base of the cylinder about 2mm and deck the top deck of the cylinder to get target value for squish. Stock head volume is OK but ideally a little small or too much compression for high rpm HIT, squish width should really be 5-6mm max for the peak power to occur in the 12-15k range. Plug will have to be 10 heat range, you will have no bottom end or midrange but it will rip up top. With 28mm Kehin PWK series carb, Malossi ignition and short semi down-draught manifold, reeds of your choice, static ignition timing at 3.3mm and a Pro Race series Metrakit pipe this combo was good for over 13 bhp.up from 6.8 bhp stock cylinder. Widen exhaust port at top but no more than 60% of cylinder width with an even opening, entire port opens almost at once, not the rounds BS that spreads powerband like stock. If you have pipe and carb to support it along with damn good crank and rod these numbers worked VERY well for me up to 15k rpm.Īll transfer ports open at EXACT same time, boost a few degrees sooner and open a few later.
